More Space, Designed to Feel Like It Was Always There

Build What Your Home Is Missing

Some homes just need more. More room for a growing family. A first-floor suite that makes aging in place possible. A private space to work or create. A home addition lets you stay in the home and the neighborhood you love, while building exactly what your life needs now.

What's Holding Your Home Back?

Not Enough Room for How Your Family Lives

You’ve outgrown your home’s layout, but you’re not ready to move. The bedrooms are too small, your family has grown, or there’s no dedicated space for the things your household needs every day.

We Design Additions That Grow With You

Whether it’s a great room, a primary suite, or a flexible space that can evolve with your family over time, we design additions around your life — not just your square footage. Every addition is custom-planned to connect seamlessly with your existing home so it feels like it was always part of the original design.

A Home No Longer Works for Where You Are in Life

Your home was built for a different season of life. There’s no primary suite on the main floor, the layout wasn’t designed with accessibility in mind, and you’re starting to wonder how much longer it’s going to work for you.

We Build for How You Want to Live, Long-Term

We design and build first-floor primary suite additions, accessible entries, and layouts that work for aging in place, without sacrificing the character or flow of your home. If your needs are changing, we’ll help you get ahead of it before it becomes a problem.

No Space for Work, Fitness, or What Matters to You

You’ve been making it work for a while now — the makeshift office, the hobby supplies in a closet, the gym equipment that never quite found a home. It doesn’t have to be this complicated.

Let's Build the Space You Need

Tell us what you’ve been wishing your home had, a real home office, a gym, a studio, a playroom, and we’ll help you figure out how to make it happen. We’ll think through what makes sense for your property, what fits your budget, and what will actually work for your life before anything gets built.up.

Our Process

A Process Designed for a Smooth Remodel

Plan. Price. Build. Every project follows the same proven path — here's what that looks like.

Phase 1: Initial Conversation & Fit Call

It starts with a real conversation, not a sales pitch. We'll talk through your goals, how you plan to use the space, your budget, and your timeline. The goal is simple alignment. If the project and our process make sense for both sides, we'll walk you through the next steps and introduce our Project Development Agreement.

This is where we do the work that protects you later. Once the PDA is signed, we schedule a Trade Day, a coordinated on-site meeting where we bring our key subcontractors to walk your home together. They identify constraints early, validate design assumptions, and build real, trade-backed pricing. We also refine layouts, review finish options, separate base scope from upgrades, and pressure-test everything against your budget.

With planning complete and scope aligned, we assemble a detailed construction proposal with every allowance and alternate clearly defined. Your project is then fully built out in Buildertrend, where contracts are signed digitally, schedules and selections are tracked, and all communication stays organized and on the record.

Construction begins with clarity because we earned it in the planning phase. You'll get daily logs, progress photos, weekly updates, and a two-week look-ahead schedule so you always know what's happening in your home. Once finishes are locked in, we post a jobsite finish board with QR codes so every trade on site is always referencing your approved selections.

We don't disappear at the finish line. We walk the project with you, work through the punch list, complete all final documentation, and close everything out cleanly. The project isn't done until you say it is.

FAQs About Home Additions Near Portsmouth

How much does a home addition cost?

It depends on the size, complexity, and finishes you select. Our home additions start at $250K+, with the average project running around $500K. Every project begins with a Comfort Zone Budget so you have a realistic sense of what your specific addition will cost before you commit to anything.

The timeline depends on the scope of the addition and the complexity of the work involved — particularly if utilities like plumbing or electrical need to be relocated. We’ll build a realistic schedule around your project during the planning phase.

Yes. We manage the permitting process as part of our scope and factor permit timelines into the project schedule from the start.

In most cases you can stay in your home during home addition construction. Home additions are often less disruptive than whole home remodels since the work is largely contained to the new structure. We’ll talk through what to expect for your specific project.

Cost Plus means our books are open to you. You see the actual cost of every subcontractor, every material order, and every line item, plus our markup. No hidden margins, no inflated allowances.

We have an in-house designer who handles conceptual renderings and material selection. We’re also experienced at collaborating with outside architects and designers you’ve already engaged. Either way, we’re built to work as part of your team.

We manage all change orders through Buildertrend so everything is documented and approved in writing before any work changes. We’ll always tell you what a change will cost before we proceed.

We Do Things a Little Differently Around Here

Most contractors make the same promises. The difference is in what happens after the contract is signed. Here’s where we put our energy.

Craftsmanship Is in Our DNA

Christian Persson is a fourth-generation carpenter. He didn’t just learn the trade, he grew up in it, side by side with his father, learning to see potential in a space before a single wall goes up.

That instinct for detail isn’t something you can teach in a classroom. When Chris walks through your home, he’s thinking about what it could become.

Always in the Know

We use an open-book pricing model called Cost Plus. That means you see exactly where your money goes: labor, materials, subcontractors, all of it.

You’ll have 24/7 access to your project in Buildertrend, with daily logs, selections tracking, and real-time updates. We believe an informed homeowner is a confident one.

We Plan Before We Build

Most of the stress in a remodel comes from decisions made too late. That’s why we spend serious time in the planning phase before a single nail is driven.

Our Project Development Agreement includes a Trade Day where subcontractors walk your home before the contract is signed, so the number you say yes to is the number that gets built.
